Anita Barone

An actress with a variety of stage roles who was mostly confined to show-biz sitcoms TV, Anita Barone received her most memorable performance in the medium when she played spouse to Jeff Foxworthy on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," which had a single season on ABC in 1995-96. Barone made her first performance on stage at the age of five in Detroit which is where she was raised after her family moved away from St Louis. By the time she turned 23, Barone had already appeared in over 50 productions. The majority of these were at regional or university theaters. Some of her stage performances included Juliet from "Romeo as well as Juliet," Helen Keller in the stage version in "Monday after the Miracle" and the role of Agnes, a young tortured nun in "Agnes of the Gods." Barone made her screen debut by playing a minor role for the role of "The Rosary Murders" in "The Rosary Murders" (1987) and also had a bit on screen in "Ricochet" (1991) and she was given a role as the lead actress on the indie romance comedy "Just Friends" (1996). Barone was commissioned by NBC in the 1990-91 time frame as a stockholder for "Carol and Company", the ill fated project by Carol Burnett at reviving the sketch comedy/variety TV show. Barone appeared for the first time in "Wounded Heart" which was a 1995 USA Network film. She returned to weekly sitcoms as a co-star on "Daddio", NBC 2000 along co-starring with Michael Chiklis.
